aAa in Northern Ireland and Ireland
I will arrive sunday May 24 in Cork. Will be analysing dairycows in Ireland the whole week untill sunday May 31.

Okay, can you explain to me how aAa works? Because I don't see how it is any better than looking at a cow and saying she needs strength (or whatever) and using a bull that is high on strength linear? Etc.

Svennis, I do announcements of my upcoming trips to the UK and Ireland. I would say that is different from plain advertising. I do contribute to this board once in a while. Please do understand that I can not give my opinion about bulls, genomics, AI companies etc because we want to be independant and unbiased. I do check cowtalk at least once a week.

I did explain aAa on this board more than once.
We work for AI's and dairyfarmers for already 60 years, aAa has never changed in time. Some aAa results are: Osbornedale Ivanhoe, Rora Elevation, Bootmaker, Leadman, Paclamar Astronaut, Harborcrest Rose Milly, Felicia May Fury, Ella Elevation, Kanza Mat Tippy and many more.
aAa:
What the cow needs has to come from the bull. We analyse cows and bulls on individual basis. That means we go to AI's to look at each individual bull and to dairyfarmers to look at cows/heifers. Breeding now a days is very computerised. But do not forget when you stand behind the cow to inseminate her you are standing there with that particular bull behind her just as in the preAI period.
The linear of the bull gives you a idee what the bull did after wide spread use. It does not specificly tell you what the bull will do on the next cow. In the group of daughters there are above and below average ones. The better ones come from balanced matings.
Different bulls, that should be used on different cows can have practicly the same linear, so you would think they breed a like. The avarage, linear can be the same, however, the better daughters come from different cows.
for example Strength: Why is a bull a strength bull, does he breed deep chests and big bones aAa 4 or does he breed wide chest, spring of rib, eating capacity aAa 5. Importand to know
aAa can answer the question Why cows have problems and How you can prevent that in the next generation, using the knowledge about relationships of bodyparts. We do not tell our clients that a cow has a bad udder (they can see that) but we explain why she has it. Some have bad udders because there is not enough depth of chest and from lacking bloodcirculation she develops a big swollen udder. On such a cow even the best udderbull in the world will not help when he does not bring a deep chest.
This is just a quick explanation of aAa there is much more to tell.

Week 39, Sept 26 - Sat okt 2 I am analysing in Ireland again.
Starting in the South-west on a big dairy to analyse 400 plus animals after that going North.

End of July I will go for the third time this year to Ireland to do aAa-analysis.
Great succes on the Dutch National Show, Grand Champion black and white holstein was a result 4 100% aAa matings in a row.
