Re: Gen-Mar Stmatic Sanchez

There are a few bulls like Fever but they are nothing like Triple Threat +3.1 DPG or Matt +3.0 DPG.Even Matt's sire Fond Hope and his brother Royal Master had great fertility +3.6 DPG and +6.2 DPG.

How come these sires had a massive impact on the breed I think it was fertility. There are some bulls with low fertility that had a great impact on the breed but would that impact of been greater with better fertility.
If the sires from the old days had great fertility why have we gone backwards cars have got faster not slower so some poor selections have been made.

With the CDN database I hope to find every bull proven from 1970 that was not used as a sire of sons or bull mothers.I hope to find the studs mistakes of selection that has created a worse product for fertility than the past.

I do think the breed is very hollow today and we miss people like Lindskoog(Arlinda)or Schnering(Curtiss Candy).Curtiss Candy was a force of greatness at some shows 100-120 head was taken in 1952 they had 5 grand champions with 5 breeds!.There is a PDF article if u want to read it Dairyagendatoday/Curtiss Candy a great read.

It wasn't like Triple Threat wasn't used as a sire of sons, he was to my knowledge very popular mating sire. He just didn't make any great sons.

His daughters however is a different story. A friend of mine asked me once to try to find a red sire, or red carrier out there that doesn't have triple threat in the pedigree. It's actually quite difficult.

I agree I love our Sanchez daughters, I bought some more of him about 6 months ago as well. Ours milk great, but are low components as you would expect. The udder texture on them is phenomenal.

We're milking several Sanchez daughters, and yes they do have low components, but great milk production. They seem to be the big, show style animals. We're very happy with the milking ones, and are using him again.

I think most of his sons that have Canadian proofs have lots of defects I wonder if this trend will continue just look at Ryan-Crest Embassy his +17 for type does not look that great with this evidence.

Is there any update on this sire? Is there a place I can find out how much his daughters are selling for? My father recently passed away and we've been advised that one of his cows might be worth more money than the rest. She is by Stmatic Sanchez, but no one seems to be able to tell us how much we could get for her at auction. I have all of her stats.

There is a Sanchez daughter at the farm I work currently milking 140 lbs. 40 days fresh in her third lactation. Beautiful cow, with a high/wide rear udder good feet and legs and most importantly a deep and wide chest (the trait that is most important for great cows)she is only bested by a Niagra daughter of the same age and similar build. That is why my brother and I have used him on our heifer and Advent x Talent from the Impalas.
