Re:
We have two milking. Really like them. Both are above average for size, great udders. Legs are maybe a touch straight on ours. Milking average so far, the first one is only fresh a month.

Re: Seagull-Bay Supersire
My only Supersire just calved about a week ago.
I love the look of this heifer. Great dairy quality; long neck and deep, open rib, flawless feet and legs and a sweet udder. She is a beauty.
Shame I only have one!!

Re: Seagull-Bay Supersire
Now have 4 milking, really like them, enough strength, long necked and milky. wide udders, quality udders. One just fresh, but the others have peaked at 98 and 95# so far, and the best one type-wise from an Excellent Ernesto had 87# fresh 30 days with a really sweet udder. Not giants, linear is very accurate, just the right size.

Re:
Milking only 1 atm and she is an absolute cracker. Significantly better than mum both fore and rear attachments, teats are placed ideally, good ligament and texture should be pretty decent given a bit more time. Ideal rump set with nice width. Has 2 Alexander sisters and an Orana who don't hold a candle to her physically. Early days but appears to be milking really well

Re:
I've seen a couple of Supersire's on a recent trip to WDE and subsequent farms. Can't say I'm impressed.
There was one I liked, the others appeared to be kind of frail and lacking depth of barrel.
I'm far more impressed with the Mogul's I have seen- only a few of them I didn't like

Re:
Supersire has no sons with a higher GTPI than himself. Very unusual and probably unlikely.
This point was made in Holstein International magazine by Darin Meyer from De-Su.
My Select rep thinks this is because Supersire initially wasn't used on the highest dams.
Seems to me he likely he will drop some.
Time will tell!

The generational outlier bulls like Mark, Bell, Blackstar, Durham, Oman, Goldwyn, and Shottle, tend to be this way. None of their sons was better than they were. I don't know why it is so damning that Supersire hasn't made a son better than himself. The bull is leaps and bounds better than his contemporaries.

I agree with your point but I see Freddie as better than Oman. The shottle sons I have used are better than shottle.

Re: Seagull-Bay Supersire
I would say Freddie Vs Oman is debatable, but the point is that list is very very short. I have been underwhelmed by Shottle's sons. But once more given the huge number of sons, we are maybe only talking a couple that come close to or exceed Shottle.
Also Supersire saw a jump, once his daughters came into his proof. If his sons follow this pattern, it is awful early to write them off.

Re:
I'd say those generational outliers bulls you mention tend to have about 5 sons who are as good or slightly better. I expect a few Supersire sons being close to equal on production and slightly better type and or Cell Count.
