Re:
Sid is hot, so I am sure that played a role. It is hard for me to say whether the Sids will be frail or not, as I haven't seen many past 1st or 2nd lactation. Brittany is a beautiful cow... that has had her fair share of health issues. Strength may be playing a role - or just Jasper in general.

I am surprised that Jacobs make a mating like this.
When you look at the pedigrees of their successful show cows they often have lots of strength close up. Brittany's pedigree has power but it is a little further back, Lindy, Starbuck and Tempo behind her Storm granddam. Jasper's aAa is 453 so in principal a power bull too.
It look like Jacobs is just following the general trend in show breeding, from the stronger kinda bulls (Tempo, Starbuck Lindy) to the high maintenance bulls (Goldwyn, Jasper) everybody active in the show circuit is using. Without these bulls you can't compete. Just market driven, show herd costs a lot of time and money, most people like to get a return on investment somewhere.
Even if you don't feed an BKB Allegro for a month they still are not as frail as Goldwyn Brittany :-).

Re: type, show bulls next generation...
Britany looks very dominant at transmitting no strength even when she has been bred to stronger sires the resulting daughters do not show great strength on there Genomic proofs. If the cow is going to breed less strength even when bred to stronger bulls why bother wasting the stronger blood when u can use a bull like Sid to increase her strong points even further and allow these quality's of the sire to pass through to the next generation.
There are a few more bulls I have come across that have great type with improved strength that look interesting to me.
Barbiota
(Iota x Shottle x Durham)
A double Regancrest bull with lots of strength.

21 Genetics Showcase
(Let It Snow x Windbrook x Planet)
His mother is a great looking cow with plenty of strength and the cross of Snowman x Windbrook looks useful.

RMW Ability RC
(Larson x Goldwyn x Oman)
Double Goldwyn with positive strength along with a different kind of sire stack for a type bull.

Walnutlawn Sochi
(Elaborate x Lavanguard x FBI)
A very close cross of a Lauthority son been bred to a Lavanguard daughter.

De Volmer Hero
(Hero x Shottle x Durham)
A high type Hero son from the Barbie line.

Re: type, show bulls next generation...
Those Bulls might be higher typed Bulls but not sure how many daughters will see from them at expo and other bigger shows.

Re:
This Lismore Clark Cable bull has a nice pedigree. Who is selling such an old fashioned pedigree in the middle of the genomic era?

PA...I don't feel you will see many Sid's in the mature cow classes because their legs will go away before than! Do you agree?

Re:
Yea, their legs will limit their success long-term. Some will make it, he probably will not dominant like Goldwyn.

Re: type, show bulls next generation...
A friend of mine has been showing a nice Sid at our local shows. I looked up on Holstein UK all the Sids they had registered, whilst looking for the pedigree of the one they showed. I think they had registered 10 Sids. There were two with good classifications, a couple of GP Sids and the rest were not scored. This guy has a really good herd. Pretty poor hit rate.

Re:
I like my small handful of show cows but for 98% of the population Sid is a manure sandwich, and that's on a good day.
