AltaSpring
I have 3 of these milking now. Beautiful udders, loads of milk, and plenty of width throughout.
Don't know what the health traits will be like but they have certainly started off on the right note.

Re: AltaSpring
I am milking about 6 Springs now and they are an impressive group. Excellent udders and high production.
I have considered using him again.

Re: AltaSpring
A bit off topic but out of interest what would be your views on the offspring of other genomic bulls your now milking heifers off of craig? Any standouts/dissapoinments?

Re: AltaSpring
Successes:
Epic; really functional, trouble free, productive, nice looking cows. Would use more but for his components
Spring; very consistent mammaries, lots of milk and power
O-Cosmpolitan; just really nice cows that milk well and and are trouble free
Supersire; I only have one milking but I think it is a great cow, just fresh with it's 3rd calf. I have used loads of Supersire in the past year. Calves being born in last couple of months are really good.
Supershot; sturdy cows trouble free and very high yielding. Not high type but very functional
Silver; great udders, loads of milk and fat; powerful
Failures:
Mogul; poor for mastitis and fertility. Strangely I have fared much better with his sons on these traits
McCutchen; kind of a success and a failure! Won't use him or have him in a pedigree now as they are just too extremely tall and frail. However, with a bit of tlc the three we are milking have performed well; lots of milk and excellent health traits. But they have had a lot of nurturing at times.
Alta Embassey; our were terrible. Ugly, low production and terrible attitude in the parlour.
De-Su Moonray; formerly a comfortable No.1 PLI bull, check him out now. Very poor for mastitis. Ours are nearly all 3/4. Type is actually quite nice and components are good.
Never used Uno, Bookem or Shamrock who look as if they are amongst the best of that generation.
