Thats with average fat/protein tests (3.9, 3.4 I think) It would be ok in a normal year, but, the need to bring in all hay/grain and for some to buy water it is not enough to sustain. It is hard when it doesn't rain enough anymore to make enough hay for even a small part of the year.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Craigalea)Thu, 18 Jun 2009 01:41:58 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408978,from=rss#post408978https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408978,from=rss#post408978The 400 or so unfortunate souls supplying the receivers at DFB are receiving in the region of 10 ppl for their June milk.nondisclosed_email@example.com (ExpectingRain)Wed, 17 Jun 2009 04:59:58 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408965,from=rss#post408965https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408965,from=rss#post408965we were payed 249,57 per 1000 litres @ 3.8fat 3.2pronondisclosed_email@example.com (oconnor1)Tue, 16 Jun 2009 11:14:26 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408942,from=rss#post408942https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408942,from=rss#post408942Nordmilch, Germany, May: 0.21€ per litre at 3.7%fat and 3.4% protein Lowest German creamery ist at 0.169€ and highest at 0.2615€ per litrenondisclosed_email@example.com (svennis)Sun, 14 Jun 2009 11:33:27 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408503,from=rss#post408503https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408503,from=rss#post408503quote:FiringOnAllFour wrote: Do you expect this to hit milk supply in Germany? I don`t think milk supply will drop too much as there are many big barns under construction now and a new milk strike seems unlikely as no one could afford it. Those bigger farms will probably level the drop in milk production which arises due to some farmers leaving the industry now. It all depends on how long the banks will stay quiet. And if some of the bigger farms will have to close there will be for sure a dutch guy who will take them over. Milk quota prices will drop very fast, though.nondisclosed_email@example.com (svennis)Fri, 15 May 2009 08:23:30 +0000 International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408497,from=rss#post408497https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408497,from=rss#post408497march milk was 2.28 /kg butterfat and 5.58/kg protein. so on 98875 l @ 4.29 and 3.12 we received after all deductions/levies/freight and GST we got 26956.62 which is almost 50% of what we got last year.I appear to be around $10,000 behind each month as it costs us around 36 cents a litre to break even and we are not getting that!nondisclosed_email@example.com (foxleigh)Fri, 15 May 2009 00:30:18 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408491,from=rss#post408491https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408491,from=rss#post408491Do you expect this to hit milk supply in Germany?nondisclosed_email@example.com (FiringOnAllFour)Thu, 14 May 2009 21:02:58 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408482,from=rss#post408482https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p408482,from=rss#post408482Nordmilch, Germany, april: 0.22 € per litre at 3.7 fat and 3.4 protein Price will continue to drop in the next months as the supermarkets recently cut the price for packed milk price by 7 cents per litre.nondisclosed_email@example.com (svennis)Thu, 14 May 2009 16:54:11 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p405571,from=rss#post405571https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p405571,from=rss#post405571Here is an interesting link to a comparison of 15 big dairy companies in Europe, based on december prices though: http://www.milkprices.nl/ nondisclosed_email@example.com (svennis)Thu, 19 Feb 2009 09:11:52 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p405392,from=rss#post405392https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p405392,from=rss#post405392Nordmilch, Germany, january: 0.23 € per litre at 3.7 fat and 3.4 proteinnondisclosed_email@example.com (svennis)Mon, 16 Feb 2009 09:56:35 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p405299,from=rss#post405299https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p405299,from=rss#post405299jan milk price was 343,81 per 1000 liters @38 fat 32 pro nondisclosed_email@example.com (oconnor1)Sat, 14 Feb 2009 15:39:52 +0000 Re: International milk price comparisonhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p404729,from=rss#post404729https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p404729,from=rss#post404729Our co-op has informed us of a 34% price drop as of 1 Feb, this takes premium quality milk to about 29cents per litre. The reasoning is overproduction (1.5% over). More or less, the add more cows on, over produce strikes again. If only people would UNDER produce by 2-3%, so demand outweighed production. We would see better prices. Back when it hit about $24.00/cwt, there was more deman that supply.. Ah yes, that was nice, and it was only a year ago. We had heard that MG was going to open lower in july 09 but expected that they would hold current prices.THis of course places downward pressure on the other companies to conform. Whilest MG suppliers dont appear to have a contracted price they nether the less have a budgeted forecast price and with the drought many had (as we all do!) budgeted and spent/borrowed to buy feed and water for cows to produce milk.Last week our nutritionist had told us that he had MG suppliers on the books who were only having $2/cow/per day left after they had paid for the feedcosts. This is going to place enormus pressure on farmers lives - one lady rang up the country hour talkback line in response to the news and said "that's it we're finished. we're done .it's over. For those who are outside united, the bonus was +0.1ppl for scc under 150 and TBC under 10, combined. Now there is a potential .35 up for grabs, and getting the bacto regularly is doable from where I'm standing. This is in contrast to united's 'moat' in the eye, town of monaghan, who pay a similar bonus for scc under 200.
