Put another way :
There were an old bull and a young bull in a field, when the farmer put in some heifers.
The young bull said, 'Look at all those lovely heifers, let's run down and serve some'
'No,' responded the old bull, 'Let's walk down and serve them all.'
First time ive heard that at all and I quite like it. Mental note - save that for 30-40 years time.

That's the point, there's a lot of things you've never heard before.........but you still think you know it all!??!

Poll: Dairying plans for 2009
Where have I said that I do?
This thread is about plans for 2009 and further afield. The ones i've posted earlier are our plans. Problem with that?

Re: Poll: Dairying plans for 2009
Having seen Ian potter's website today and the huge swathe of price cuts, I decided it was time to close this poll - as i suspect some answers would now be decidely less optimistic than they were when people voted at the beginning of the year!

Poll: Dairying plans for 2009
We will all still be here. Like Broa we will be seeking relief from post milking syndrome.

Re: Poll: Dairying plans for 2009
So what do you do if you quit???
Beef and sheep are both flying at the moment and would cost to more to get into than the returns might be in a years time, arable doesn't look too bright, and if you quit farming altogether the big wide world is a seriously mixed up place at the moment with rising unemployment and credit problems.

Bump,
Maybe we should revisit this as the future for milk prices seems to be heading south!!

Re: Poll: Dairying plans for 2009
I voted as uncertain in the original poll, but much to my own surprise we'll now look to at least maintain production in the coming year.
