Foundation Sires

I'm not impressed with the lack of advertising done by the company. So if I am allowed to, I will post earth shattering news, within reason of course.
There are 2 young sires just released.... Ocean View Shottle Sir, a Shottle X Lindy Sheen, and Rosedale Blackjack (RDC), a Laurin X Black Ruby.

Hey PA, how's she cuttin? I figured I was falling on deaf ears, which isn't unusual on here. Yes you are correct, I do work for the #1 fertility company in North America. You know it isn't easy competing with all the truly top quality studs out there, but at the end of the day, it certainly is reassuring to be able to say WHO'S YOUR DADDY NOW. Sorry that's just the juvenile dilinquent coming out in me. Now where was I? Oh yeah, I'm from Western Quebec, Canada. Most people around won't admit to knowing me but I love them all dearly. Next week I'm heading to a meeting in Napanee Ontario, hometown of none other than Avril Lavigne. I'm sure that I will be a knowledgable little troll for a few days after that. PA here's a hot tip just for you, Karnvilla Radiant ( Allen X Triumphant) could be the next big thing for us. The ones Ive seen are big improvements on their dams and very wet. I would protect components but they certainly do milk, and out of tidy udders. He is being bumped up to 40 dollars Canadian to curb speculation, but I am only charging half of that, for as long as I can get away with it. If you would like some, call me at home because I'm not shacked up with Avril anymore.
emoticon PS PA I notice you have some Redlou semen. I have one that won't stop eating, she hasn't had a test yet, but looking forward to it. Her momma made over 15,000 kgs with 4.0 fat and 3.4 protein in 365 days at 4 yrs.

Redlou semen, how about a few pregnancies on the way. The Talent X Redmarker cross makes a lot of sense to me. 1st Redlou pregnancy goes dry this month. And I think I have about 3-4 after her. I assume in Canada it is the same as US - where you work for affiliated sires, not just Foundation or Browndale? How about your Exports? I am milking 3 - all of which are clearly above herd average for milk. The one went 83 as a 2 yr old, the other 80 - and has points in her. In fact, both of them might. At 20 days fresh for the second time, the 83 pt. one was milking over 100 lbs already (sorry don't know kg conversion very well to do the math...) and I bet she's up over 120 going now, shes an absolute milk machine and extremely tall and dairy.

Oh and I have an Absolute Lee 2 yr old that went 86 (VG-MS) and I bet shes got another point in her if I rescore her soon. But that'll cost money since the classifiers won't be in the area. Best framed 2 yr old ever on the farm. Perfect combination of dairy and strength. She went 87 Front end capacity, but to be honest, I think she'd go 90 there now. How hard would it be for me to get you guys to come picture her? Maybe if I say PLEASE!

Dear PAD
I'm not familiar with Export, what am I missing out on? The problem with daughter pics, is that you have to be " cutting edge" so to speak. Two years ago Doug Brown would have been all over you for a picture of your cow, but now they just have to kind of move on to the next big thing. Right now, Foundation is scoping the country side for fresh Radiants and Montanas with possibly a good Jubilee or Marino in the mix. Doug might still be in the hunt for a good Redliner in milk but I'm not sure. The best thing would be to call him about your cow, cause you never know. Absolute Lee was more popular in the States than up here.
PM me some details of your where abouts in Pensylvania, Brian takes a few trips down there every year. He just loves the Windy-Knoll-View herd, as do I. He visits a colony down there someplace that uses 100% Foundation Sires, they like how the bulls have worked on the frail cows they had.

The most recent young sire released is Futurecrest Tahoe VG 86 1YR. He is a Laramie out of Salem Goldwyn Theresa VG 89 2YR. Theresa made a 2yr record of over 14,000 kgs milk 3.7% fat and 3.3% pro. in 305 days.
1 kg = 2.2 pounds. for interest sake.
The only bull to recieve a proof in Jan. was Electricity. -628 milk , ME 10,900 KGS. +0.35 FAT, +0.04 PRO. DEV.
    Health and fert. +144
    Conf. +9 DS +8
    Mam. +10 R. +1
    F+L. +1
           75%GP > on 76 daus.
      SCS 3.01
I didn't sell much of him based on the fact that he was a Roy son. I don't like Roy, so people had a hard time prying it out of my hands. In all likelyhood not very marketable anyway, and that suits me just fine. Considering the fact that he was the only bull the stud had to get a proof, he's not that bad.

So maybe if I get some Redlou cows on the way, I can get them pictured? What happens if I get the cow pictured myself, is there a chance they will put her in the catalog?

Ridgedale Export - he's proof doesn't look anything special which I find hard to believe because we really like the ones were milking.

Re: …

I would suggest doing her yourself and send Doug a picture. A dude down the road from me pictured a Carisma after the bulls initial flood gates opened. Low and behold she now graces the catalogue. When the powers that be, spread the pictures out on a table, usually the best picture of a cow with the best numbers will get the nod. Remember to picture the cow at her best, and not when it suits you. Too often a cow is pictured because a unit needs a picture, but the cow is at the wrong stage of lactation. The shot doesn't do the cow or bull or breeder any justice. You likely know all this but it doesn't hurt to mention it to other shutterbugs.
I wouldn't say that affiliated wouldn't pay for pictures, it probably depends on how desperate they are for them. As far as doling out the coin here and there, they are pretty stingy with it. But in their defence, this is the price we pay for cheap semen.

They are very cheap semen. I give them much credit for it, and they seemed to lower their prices in the US with this downturn, so that was nice of them =)
