I have been fairly lucky mostly minor bumps, breaks, bruises, and concussions.

Last summer a cow rolled over on my leg and gave me a partially torn MCL. Had to wear a brace for about 8 months.

Accidents

Reason i started this is that everyone who knows me say i`m accident prone....but...just after i left school 25years ago dad nipped my thumb with chainsaw ..hospital job.. several years later tossed by a belgian blue bull, badly bruised..a few close calls in tub mixer changeing blades...6 years ago cow kicked above knee and end result was osteomylitis and 2 months in hospital and to top it all last year slipped in cubicle shed carrying bucket of lime end result both corneas burnt completely off and lucky for me they grow back..!!!

I was kicked in the head by a heifer and didn't know who I was for a couple of hours.Had to have a CT scan but was OK pretty soon afterwards.Stabbed myself with a screwdriver changing liners and nearly had my finger bitten of by a calf once.Had a hernia OP a few years back and am always getting back problems.Seems I've been pretty lucky compared to some of you lot!

Re: Accidents

Have had a lot of minor accidents and injury's like bruised fingers and broken ribs. Worse accident was 6 years ago, when I was kicked in the head by a cow, was unconscious for some hour's and don't remember anything from first 18-20 hour's. Jaw broken in two places and 5 teeth missing, cheekbone broken, fractured skull in 3 places and a small bleeding on the brain. Had to stay at hospital for 23 days. Today I still have daily headache need to take pills 3 time a day, becomes easily tired and have problems with concentration.

I ran my index and middle fingers on my right hand through a sprocket and chain, broke them both and almost pinched them off. I also shot a nail through my thumb.

emoticon emoticon A relative of mine is on two months sick leave after severely damaging the middle finger of his right hand. They were lifting a downer cow and he was attaching the harness to the telehandler.... but the guy driving it engaged the locking mechanism too soon.... OUCH !!!! One has to look at the silver lining.... a few seconds earlier and he might have lost most of his hand....

Many years ago, a mate of mine was helping his Dad, trying to drop a trailer off of a stuck pick-up hitch. He was jumping on the trailer draw-bar whilst his Dad was working the hydraulics in the tractor.

Dad lifted the hydraulics right up at the wrong time and took the tops off of both his sons big toes, one at the first joint, the other slightly further up.
