Spelling?!!? Whooo, your getting desperate..... My guess is the 440 acer farm has been lying empty for the last 18 months........because it's only 4 miles(or so) from the buyer, your buyer, the Creamery........no thanks, I quite like this "rough area" as you put it nondisclosed_email@example.com (James Johnston)Sat, 10 Apr 2010 00:54:31 +0000 Re: …https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p414380,from=rss#post414380https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p414380,from=rss#post414380quote:Campbeltowncowboy wrote:  As for JJ I think if you read most of his posts you will find he is quite aggressive to many other cowtalkers as well. We have had a dreadful 2009, but things have improved marginally. But in 2008 we had much better prices, on average, than GB mainland. But i just feel that perhaps you and JJ should do your arguing somewhere else, and stop with all the personal stuff, whether direct or indirect.nondisclosed_email@example.com (alan a)Fri, 12 Feb 2010 23:29:57 +0000 https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p413076,from=rss#post413076https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p413076,from=rss#post413076alan a I thought you might have understood what I am getting at a little better than James, he has always had a problem with me. This money is comming from the EU and has been hard fought for by fellow producers on the continent who suffered prices well below the cost of production, but it is being payed to all producers in the EU, and because of currency we on the mainland UK were not hit as bad as the rest of EU.Check out the website of "Dairy Farmers of Scotland"!!!  The problem now is if producers on supermarket contracts many who have "sustainable prices" are seen to be getting a £2000 average handout they will want some if not all of it back.So if any body is looking for a price rise soon from the supermarkets think again!!!!!  That is why I think it should only go to the hardest hit producers.   JJ You cant even spell Campbeltown properly,I bet you have never even been down here,You no nothing about my reasons for moving to Fife or even down here. Most of the producers in my milk field have to contend with poorer weather, longer winter, traffic, townies on our doorstep, smaller land areas, poorer land, higher costs, the list goes on, as dose the list of benefits, top of which at the moment is a slightly better milk price for some..... ......Cowboy, you've moved twice before, what's stopping you doing so again, but this time moving to better your chances in the "postcode lottery" ......nondisclosed_email@example.com (James Johnston)Fri, 12 Feb 2010 11:33:39 +0000 Re: …https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p413061,from=rss#post413061https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p413061,from=rss#post413061So it is alright to give it to those of us who live in NI, because we got a low price, but not those with supermarket contracts, because of where they live? I don't claim to know the full story on milk contracts in Gb, but Cowboy you really need to lose the chip on your shoulder. People who live close to big populations have a competitive advantage in many ways. Nowadays milk price is one of them. Live with it.nondisclosed_email@example.com (alan a)Fri, 12 Feb 2010 00:34:34 +0000 https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p413056,from=rss#post413056https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p413056,from=rss#post413056Maybe it should just be ex DFoB and producers in northern Ireland that get as they were the poorest prices and below the cost of production. I would rather they get it all than share it with the postcode lottery winners that have supermarket contracts.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Campbeltowncowboy)Thu, 11 Feb 2010 21:21:41 +0000 Re: EU Milk Fundhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p412795,from=rss#post412795https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p412795,from=rss#post412795Has to be flat rate either on litres produced or on quota. True, there is a wide gap between the best off and worst off producers in the UK, but thats life. In Northern Ireland, one proposal is to weight the payment to benefit small producers. In my view, this is wrong, as we've all received pretty much the same milk price, but larger farms tend to have invested more, and have lost more money over the last year due to higher output. Its not right that they should be penalised for investing in their farms. The same thing is happening with a small modernisation grant scheme here. Dept. is suggesting weighting it to benefit LFA producers, meaning that probably very little money would go to the lowland. Its hard to discriminate these sorts of things fairly and efficiently. nondisclosed_email@example.com (FiringOnAllFour)Thu, 04 Feb 2010 10:57:52 +0000 https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p412769,from=rss#post412769https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p412769,from=rss#post412769I agree boltonmanor, cowboy is just sh*t stirring because he has a chip on his shoulder........nondisclosed_email@example.com (James Johnston)Wed, 03 Feb 2010 17:43:47 +0000 https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p412758,from=rss#post412758https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p412758,from=rss#post412758I personally would think by the time they had been through working out peoples share on your system there would be no money left!nondisclosed_email@example.com (boltonmanor)Tue, 02 Feb 2010 23:42:28 +0000 EU Milk Fundhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p412680,from=rss#post412680https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p412680,from=rss#post412680 Should all UK milk producers get a share of this payout?  Given that many UK producers are on a direct supply contract which pays more than the cost of production , my feeling is that it should only be payed to producers who had real hardship and are getting below the cost of production.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Campbeltowncowboy)Sun, 31 Jan 2010 10:56:45 +0000
