Re: quick trip

When are you going and how long have you allowed? That`s a trip of 1300 miles without any diversions.

We spent four days in Yellowstone last year, also visiting Jackson Hole and Cody Wyoming and that wasn`t long enough. I can thoroughly recommend the Buffalo Bill Historical Centre in Cody, and you can easily spend half a day there.

Itasca is a lovely visit, and it is great fun to walk across the mississippi, must take all of 5 seconds. Amazing to see the start of it all, then see it downstream and a mile wide.

Re: quick trip

as usual a memorible trip......the weather was no warmer than an aussie winter...
I can report that there will be much more flooding to come. There was still 5ft of snow on top of both big horn plateau and yellowstone - the main roads were cleared but the rest were still closed.Rivers both sides of the divide were running on or over their banks.
The wilonna herd was up to its usual good standard with many of the cows that were dry last june dry again.Met up with our us et vet who was flushing for us while we were there.Similar story at moondale.
Interestingly enough the grooms family who had used astronaut last june claimed that the heifers were the fanciest, longest most impressive heifers that they had had in a long time.
My son had a fine time fishing - he hauled in a 12" bass that his " american" granma specially cooked up for him.He also hauled in a decent sized croppie.Between us we manged to catch everything except a walleye and a bullhead. His american granpa hauled in a decent sized northern pike.Me - I let the team down ... the longest fish I caught was 3 inches long.....So I had the pleasure of stocking the lake behind the house with " minnows"
