Seriously? We are going to debate this? That jack ass, had killed thousands of people across the world, 3000 alone on 9/11/01. Then he went into hiding, and had 10 years to poke all citizens of the world in the eye by evading capture. I won't waste another minute debating this. That evil man got his.
Using the term assassination implies that he warranted the same rules as a head of state. He was an armed and dangerous international criminal, who lead an organization of criminals and murderers.
At the end the only positive contribution he made to the world is that we now have a new way to order at a bar. You say "I want a Bin Laden" That gets you two shots, and a drink of water.

What good would it have done to take him alive? So then the US could've used even more taxpayer money to feed him and put him through the court system? I love how people in other countries judge on us on things like this. Sorry, but that idiot murdered thousands of innocent people.
As far as the rejoicing and celebrating in the streets, I understand that it seems inappropriate. With that said, I'm not going to judge others that had to go through what some of those people went through on 9/11. I can't even imagine witnessing that and losing loved ones the way that many of them did.
It's always amazing to me the amount of people that almost defend the actions of a lunatic. Personally, I am thankful that there is at least one less terrorist in the world today.

I understand quite well how you feel. You are still angry about 9/11. The British are still angry about 7/7. I think you didn't really understand my posts though. If you read them again, you won't find any defence of bin laden.
As for people in other countries judging, well we lost over three thousand of our people to terrorism, in what is a province of about 1.5 million people. Virtually everyone here knows someone who was killed or left disabled. Its a very small place. We are quite well seasoned in these affairs.
Taking him alive and applying the judicial system would not so much be for the benefit of bin laden. Much more for America and the history writers.
All that said, if he had a gun and posed a threat to the soldiers, then its fair game.

Strange as it sounds some people belive he is the same man Obama Bin Laden.Sounds crazy but same height same blood group left handed same age.Even if this is bull he should not be president the birth certificate was a fake.I read some were madaline allbright said Bin Laden was dead in 2002 and he was on ice.Does anybody know of an MP called Robin Cook he died after he wrote in a newspaper that alkieda was the code word for the database of the CIA trained mujahadine fighters not a terroist organisation.Bin Laden was CIA(TIM OSSMAN) so was Saddam Hussien who was given chemical weapons from the usa to use on Iran.Same with Iran usa gave them nuclear tech in the 80's.In the 70's or 80's an oil company wanted to build a pipe line across Afghanistan the leader of that company at that time was mohamed kaisey now leader of Afghanistan and now the pipeline is being built.His brother is one of the biggest opium dealers in the world.The leader of Iran is one of the most honest men alive people should listen to him he speaks the truth.

The only thing with 911 u need to know is WTC7.This building was not on the report but they admited blowing it up.How can the building be rigged with explosives in that time frame on that day and be demolished at i think 17.00.Also 2.5 trillion dollars went missing from the defence budget on 10th september.How did the Terroists know that the computers and staff that worked on the defence budget that knew were the money went at the Pentagon were in that very room that got hit VERY STRANGE.Also i have seen many subliminal messages in films this could be a complete coincidence.Terminator 2 when the truck chases john connor down the flood way.When the truck crashes u see fuel leaking out and then the explosion look what it says on the bridge caution 911.Independence Day when david goes to the white house and gets on the helicopter.Look at his laptop when he opens it says 9.11.01
Then just after the spaceship blast that skyscraper to bits look familiar.There are loads more but one is strange frasier crane show.When i watch this programme some things jump out at me his door has the numbers of 911.01.There are even triangles on the door. Also triangles are on the American dollar bill with the eye of satan on it.Frasier had a special day once were he sang the theme tune that was 9.11.93 strange.There were 11 series of frasier in 2001 it was the 9 series so 9-11.His number plate reads 33 WTC
also the guy that created frasier david angel died on 9.11.01 he was on the plane the hit the tower.
