Hi from Norway

Hi, everybody, i've been on here for a few years, and i visit this forum every day. But I never really got as far as to introduce myself.

We run a farm on an island off the west coast of Norway. We have about 25 milking cows(Holstein), and 320 ewes. milk yield is at about 10 500l, hoping to increase to over 11 000l in the next few years. If you want to see the farm on google earth you can write: Fjøløy, Rennesøy, Norway

Re: Hi from Norway

Thanks Johnny

Well, we have quite mild winters, compared to other parts of Norway, we usually get a couple of days with snow, and a little skating ice if we're lucky. We use mostly ryegrass so its not that cold. Some people try to grow corn/maize but it's very risky. We usually grow peas and barley together to get some protein/starch(?).

I would imagine we have similar climate as in Scotland, but maybe a little less rain since we only have sea on one side(the north sea).
