Are Arla going to keep taking £97 million and may be more back to Arla amba members ? It sounds good but the devil may be in the detail. Because the Arla farmers won't vote in favour if it means short term subsidising Milklink farmers. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Big Bird)Wed, 20 Jun 2012 18:37:42 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424683,from=rss#post424683https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424683,from=rss#post424683Why is it going to take 3 years to get the same price?? So you in theory you could have a milk price of say 30ppl but maybe 2,3,4 ppl in some cases maybe retained by Arla amba.   Again short on detail, but I have been made aware of this. Pretty much as you're saying, split between 13th payment, added to capital account and invested by Arla. I am expecting there to be more detail atthe end of the week.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Big Bird)Wed, 23 May 2012 13:16:18 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424667,from=rss#post424667https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424667,from=rss#post424667Ian Potter website As ususal Potter's website has a lot of information. Looks unbelievably complicated! I think Milklink members are on to a winner. Jonathon Ovens thinks that AFMP will be following in the next few years. I just wonder though. AFMP only bring capital with them, not established processing facilities. I think AFMP members would likely dilute the returns for existing Arla Amba shareholders without really having anything valuable to offer in return.nondisclosed_email@example.com (errolston)Wed, 23 May 2012 12:54:43 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424665,from=rss#post424665https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424665,from=rss#post424665  Remember once on the European price structure with Arla amba you guarantee Arla amba 2.5% profit which is kept back from producers. This is then either capitalised, payed as a 13th payment or invested by Arla amba. Expectation is that we'll see a milk price above all but the top supermarket groups. On the capital account front I believe we're looking at a larger interest payment on completion of the deal in lieu of interest payments during the 3 year bedding in period.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Big Bird)Wed, 23 May 2012 11:33:05 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424661,from=rss#post424661https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424661,from=rss#post424661Jonathon Ovens told the AFMP members at a meeting I was at that becoming full members of Arla Amba was on the agenda in the medium term. He also said that on becoming members we would receive the same milk price as the Danish and Swedish farmers. I would expect that if that is true then the Milklink members can expect a significant milk price increase soon!nondisclosed_email@example.com (errolston)Wed, 23 May 2012 08:19:36 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424631,from=rss#post424631https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424631,from=rss#post424631AFMP could force the issue, & try to get the golden ticket into alra amber !nondisclosed_email@example.com (pronto)Tue, 22 May 2012 13:36:43 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424629,from=rss#post424629https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424629,from=rss#post424629Cant see the AFMP guys being too happy at paying 0.5ppl for 8 years to build a new dairy being over the moon about it!!!! But it is the easy way to get the milk to fill it, unless the AFMP producers walk away. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Campbeltowncowboy)Tue, 22 May 2012 11:19:59 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424628,from=rss#post424628https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424628,from=rss#post424628Info in post this morning. Merger proposed between milklink and Arla's European base. Haven't fully digested letter yet, and there will be more detail to follow, but can't see Milklink membership voting against based on a discussion with a council member.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Big Bird)Tue, 22 May 2012 11:01:20 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424625,from=rss#post424625https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424625,from=rss#post424625The trouble is there are so many rumours ciculating nobody knows what's happening, milk link look as if they are getting into bed with arla but under what terms??, dairy crest may be taken over but by who? muller? first milk? surely arla wouldn't be in that mix as well would they, your guess is as good as mine!.nondisclosed_email@example.com (redrobin)Tue, 22 May 2012 06:21:40 +0000 Re: Arla/Milk Linkhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424614,from=rss#post424614https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p424614,from=rss#post424614I am surprised there hasn't been much feedback to this topic by UK based milk producers.
