Re: Longmoor signing in!

Hi Big Bird
We are in North Dorset with some land in Wiltshire so joined Holstein South and Wiltshire. We entered the herd competition back in the summer and did very well. We won the novice, reserve champion herd, our Shottle heifer came 2nd out of 11 and our 89 point 3yr old Talent was 3rd out of 11. It is a good club but it would be good to go to some of the other club meetings. Is it ok to attend two clubs?
Thank you for the welcome

Hi kingmambo & expectingrain apologies but I haven't had time yet to follow up your messages, I will look when I get a chance. Cows busy calving, just had twin British blues born and another cow getting close, a long night a head!

I think it's OK to join 2 clubs but you can't use both to qualify for national competitions, eg if your calf just misses out in the South & Wilts show you couldn't then try again via the SW show.

Not 100% certain about that but worth checking out if you're interested.

Obviously SW club is far superior though. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Yes very well thank you, our heifers sold well. The two fresher ones could have been more. I did not make it down there but trade seemed quite strong and the top was 3300 for a shottle. Where are you exactly?

I thought you might be interested to know that our first Durham Red heifer is calving an Alchemy now, she looks fantastic! Great through the rump, legs are very correct. Fingers crossed!

That's me.

I also registered under the 'Posh' prefix when there were other partners involved. That's all been absorbed into Westel now.
