Re: genomic results

Have a 4 month old AltaOak bull who got genomic results today-came out at 988NM. His dam is a smooth, strong Bookem from Shottle Ticker. He is slated for Select. A full brother is 887 NM. The lowest full sib came out at 585NM, over a 400$NM spread, which is a little shocking!

Yeah, wrap that $1000 NM one in bubble wrap and put him in the guest room.

Re: genomic results

I had a bit of a curveball genomic result!

I have a Sep'13 Cogent Twist bull from a VG88 Cogent Maestro. This calf is £265 PLI (the UK index), he is only about 2100 GTPI. But due to his high PLI then Genus (ABS) are going to test him.

Re:

We had a Halogen bull this run come back at 2472 GTPI and 903 NM that will hopefully go to Alta pending health tests. Dam is a 2269 GTPI Airnet daughter that comes from a grade family in our herd thats seems to put up good production combined with low maintance generation after generation. Her genomics just kind of confirmed what we already knew. The pedigree on the bull goes as followed: Halogen X Airnet X Freddie X Bojangles X Givenchy X Lynch.

Re: genomic results

Congrats Jeb! Have you used much Halogen? Any impressions on fertility, calf size, easy to raise? Hope your calf passes all his tests!! Like the different bulls in the pedigree too!
