Jon is there any databases that stack up proofs so I could see how all three ( Braut, Foske, and Bon Jovi) all look on the same scale?

They've all got US Ayrshire proofs but I believe Braut would be the only one with actual US daughters on the proof. Without actual US daughters, the proofs are OK but a lot less reliable IMO. I use country of origin proofs on bulls without US daughters even though it can make it hard to compare across countries.

But here are the Ayrshire proofs on those three bulls:
Bon Jovi
PTA Milk: +1421
PTA Protein: +65
PTA Fat: +95
NM$: 639
Productive Life: +3.7
Daughter Pregnancy Rate: +2.8

Foske:
PTA Milk: +2148
PTA Fat: +92
PTA Protein: +81
NM$: 870
Productive Life: +7.4
Daughter Pregnancy Rate: +3.9

Braut:
PTA Milk: +1931
PTA Fat: +91
PTA Protein: +78
NM$: 717
Productive Life: +4.3
Daughter Pregnancy Rate: +2.9

Braut hasn't converted well out here, likely due to Krejstad having a pretty average proof @ 96% rel. 94 cell count and only 2kg of protein hurt the chances that a Krejstad son will convert well.

That's the correct Braut? They do have a tendency to name bulls the same thing.

That is the correct Braut. His daughter deviations on the few US daughters he has are much higher than what his Norwegian proof originally converted to.

Bon Jovi's proof is probably influenced a lot by Orraryd's proof which does have US daughters and is pretty decent.

Craiglea, I guess all I can say about the Holsteins being offered by GA is that I'm disappointed. I see bulls being offered who's sires I know and would never use on my herd. They're type bulls, we have plenty of type bulls in the US.

They are the bulls at the top here.

The Informer (basar x shotime) sons should offer something very different for you, same with anything with Fabulon (gibbon x mascot). We kept pages on both of these bulls because no one knows who they are outside of Aus:

http://www.genaust.com.au/bulls/holstein/fabulon
http://www.genaust.com.au/bulls/holstein/informer

The farmers here were demanding more type for years so the high type bulls have been used on the lower type higher production bulls and yes, we do end up with high ranking Goldwyn and Talent sons.

We used to have more than one high production no type bulls (more the nz type animal) at the top here. They sell a few doses but nowhere near the amount that a good type high production sire will.

Looking at Useage. Talent x Donor Carly
Donor is still, after more than 15 years proven (born 1994), a high production sire. Where he lacked was in the udders, especially udder depth because they milked too hard. Great production cows, Talent was moderate production, high type here, its a good combination, Useage's full brother Cardinal is also around the top of the ranks here, he has a little less production with more type.

I am not a sales rep as I am too honest, very blunt and don't like hiding things from people. Fabulon is what he is, a bull that died waiting for his proof that made some bloody good cows.

You will know the full story here but didn't he die with limited semen avaliable and it was mostly given out for AI contacts and therefore probably used on the better cows anyway.

Surely people are disappointed at how his proof ended up, it is very poor.
