Dairy Farms on Facebook
It seems that Facebook is becoming more and more popular as a social media and also as a tool for promoting businesses. There are many dairy farms on Facebook. I like Sandy Valley as they post some news and photo almost daily. The Dairy Carrie blog on FB is also interesting. What are your favorites?

Re: Dairy Farms on Facebook
I prefer ones that post only daily, bi-daily or every third day. I don't want my feed inundated with posts or I'll have to ignore them. I like Dairy Carrie, she does a nice job and gets people interacting with her page and herself... a real dairy ambassador. I try to keep my farm's page updated but still not post too much. Diederich Farm
Mistyglen does a nice job as well.

Re: Dairy Farms on Facebook
I really do believe Facebook (and other social media outlets) are a great way for farmers and breeders connect.
Like Holsti97 I enjoy reading Mistyglen's posts. We have a page that we try to update weekly (not always happens tho )
Of course the best posts are ones with pictures. I know I pay a lot more attention when something is visually pleasing.

Re: Dairy Farms on Facebook
I think Facebook is the fastest, easiest (and cheapest) way to market your farm/animals and share information.
I can't remember the last time I actually visited a farm's website. Most have Facebook pages and it's right at your fingertips when you open up your News Feed.
Personally, we've had quite a few people contact us asking questions about barn design and robots so it's a cool way to interact with other producers.
And even though I was apprehensive about it, you can often find some very interesting discussions on Twitter as well.
With Luck-E Holsteins, Quality Holsteins, Sandy-Valley, Butlerview, Ferme Blondin, Ferme Jacobs...there's non-stop cow porn on Facebook now.
Plus, I enjoy all of the not-as-famous farms (like ours), especially those that put up the "working clothes" pictures, it helps get a better idea of how bulls are transmitting.
--- Visit us on Facebook to follow the construction of our new robotic barn.

And i cannot believe the response it has been overwhelming and interacting with other breeders has been great.
My favorite page is Sandy Valley, also my favourtie farm visit though!
