The semen was delivered last week. Haven't put it in any cows yet. Wondering if I should just throw all 20 into cows at first or do some more targeted matings.....

Three units in, one used on a Holstein, one on a Jersey-Holstein and one on a Swedish Red-Holstein.

are you worried about calf size; especially when mating to a jersey x holstein? Looks like he could throw some meaty calves

I wouldn't worry at all about the Jersey X Holstein. The calving ability of the Jersey is unmatched in my opinion. A mature Jersey X Holstein cross could push out a baby elephant if they had to.

If they are big calves, my biggest concern would be with the pure Holsteins being able to push them out. I'll probably be avoiding this bull on my AirRaid and Million daughters (crossbred Million daughters but they still have his daughter stillbirth issues to a degree, what a terrible choice I made there).

I'm not worried about the calving ease for you either... of course, I am not the one that has to deal with the calving if it is a problem!! So far it looks like you will have a fun spread of offspring with it assuming all three stick.

1 for 3 on the first test run, oddly enough the Holstein was the only one stick.

August 3, 2014 is the due date.

Now I need to create a few more pregnancies.
