Re: Halogen
Thanks for the reply dabble. Was just curious since you also mentioned flushing some high gtpi animals.

Re:
I just happened to reassess Halogens proof and was shocked to see how much his production has come back. Anyone who is milking daughters finding this an issue?

Re: Halogen
My thoughts exactly. It's not even due to his sire, as Petrone has held pretty well. Definitely won't be using anymore of him now!

Re:
I'm not a fan of his breakdown for frame or high pins but other than those 2 issues OCD Big Flavor seems to be very promising and has good fitness with high type and FLC and extreme UDC.

Re: Halogen
Halogen is one of the few misses from Halo. The H family has worked great for me and I have used a wide variety of their sons. Using Hardrock and Hail now.

Re: Halogen
Halogens production proof did take a dump. It’s really the only genomic bull I’ve used that’s moved a lot when proven.
The daughters have ended up doing pretty well so far. Production is ok. And they have been trouble free animals.

Re: Halogen
That's why i was asking, he's got some pretty nice SCC & mastitis resistance on Canadian data (over two SD's), as well as calving ease and of course the daughter fert. Being that he was used a whole lot there are a few bulls popping up now with him in the back of the pedigree.
Hopefully he can pass a few of those traits up the line.
