Colostrum Replacers

I am looking for reveiws on Colostrum milk replacers. Any brand working better than others for you. We are looking at Accelerated genetic's First Day Formula with the dose of First Defense mixed in. The other product is from Select sires but theirs has a little less grams of globulin protein. Thanks for any input you can give me.

Re: Colostrum Replacers

I like Saskatchewan Colostrum Company, it is owned/carried by Alta. The only problem I've had is u have to mix it with a blender, won't mix by hand. I just read they have an easy mix formula now, though. It comes in a high calorie version for winter as well.

I wish we could get the colostrum with first defense mixed in, not available in Canada, as far as I know.

Read something recently about freezing colostrum in ice trays. And then dropping a cube in each milk bottle every normal feeding . The idea being to line the gut with immunoglobulin, which act as a protective layer, preventing scours. The large Ig block the 'holes' in the gut, preventing bacteria from passing thru.

We use the Genesis Colostrum Replacer (Nuture formula with Neotec) it is from Provimi (Vigortone Akey or Cargill). It comes in the Perfect Udder bag. Add water and shake for two minutes then feed from the bag with either a nipple or tube. I like it.

Whichever brand you use, make sure it is a 150IGg.

I don't think so. The ingredient list starts with: dried whey protein concentrate, animal fat, dried whey...

Okay, I just thought it might be, because you mentioned Cargill.

Does anyone on here sell colostrum to these colostrum companies? A milking equipment dealer around here used to pick up frozen colostrum, as a depot for a company that made dried colostrum replaces.
