Re:
Colleague in a TMR area sold Spur as young sire, I see he has just sold a bunch more to the same farmers, he must have worked.

Re: Favorite Planet Sons
He's by far not the highest planet son for dpr and pl but not bad either. He seems more solid all around than most.

Re: Favorite Planet Sons
Really liking my first few daughters from various planet sons.Have two Shameless(Shamrock brother) that are perfect cows for our system. Shorter, smoother, welded on udders and good locomotion(maybe a bit set leg but I`ll take that anyday over too straight)a Calibrate that is about the same only going to be a bit sharper not as strong.I never used planet so pretty excited how his sons can impact our herd.Being careful which ones to use but looks like Bookem will be number one.Better in f&l than most and not the close, short rear teats of most others.

Re: Favorite Planet Sons
How is everyone getting on with their planet sons now 2 years from the original discussion? Personally very happy with the Bookem's. Plan not so much... wish I had more bookems but not using him due to low scr

Re:
My bookem's are all 3rd lac'n all 5 still here, very pleased with them. Most surprising feature is how good their udders are, esp rear udders

Re: Favorite Planet Sons
My dislike for the Plan daughters is mostly exacerbated by how well the other planet sons have done for me here in comparison to the Plan's. I'm sure plan has still improved the animals, but when I look at for instance my Bookem's, there is no comparison. Perhaps the Plan's could use a little more strength. Their production falls short of the bookems also. I now have a large number of 1st and 2nd lactation bookems and if it weren't for his low scr I would still be using him
