Well I'm not as enthousiastic as you are, of 27 classified cows there are only 6 83pnts or higher. If you look at the individual cows you see that they are from a non random sample (as a lot of daughters from a top genomic bulls are). So I think he's not so special for type.
Of the 27 Beau daughters classified in Canada the maternal grand sires are 24 different bulls, and they are in 24 different herds. Only 5 of them are ETs.
The dams are classified EX 1, VG 12, GP 10, G 3, NC 1
Seems random to me.

Re: August Proof
Saw an 87pt facebook recently, tall and long, somewhat immature, but put together well. I could see a good cow in her after another couple of calves. Personally ,i would want more capacity in an 87 2yo, but the Canadian classifiers don't seem to require the standards in a vg 2yo that ausralian ones do.I must say that she had very recently changed her address and they said she was on the improve after a long trip.

Ok, my definition of random is bit different, I saw prefixes of well known herds (even US), lots form VG dams (1 even from Rudoph Zip 93pnts), 5 ET wouldn't occur with a randomly sampled young bull 10 years ago. They were only truely random sampled mostly in pure commercial herds. But I agree that it's less hyped then the average top genomic bull. Observer had ET's only with his first 20 classified daughters if I remember right.
I stopped looking below 82 points because average cows you can breed with every bull/dam combination and a bit of luck.

Re:
Most of my mates that do cows are very type oriented and constantly give me grief over health traits and index bulls. They have all without fail picked out the beau heifers as standouts without knowing what they were amongst contemporaries such as reginald, goldwyn, hero, atwood, aftershock, mccutchen, mascalese, mogul etc. Oldest only yearlings but they are nice

Re: August Proof
I fully endorse what both Dave and Craethke say about the Frans.
They have never produced a decent bull. But the cows! We milk a line that comes from BC Frantisco's dam. Just exactly as Dave describes milky, big, rugged cows with the widest rumps you will see.

Re: August Proof
The Facebook daughters that have pictures come from high end family's and all of them have brothers at stud so it is hard to say what Facebook has done but if they are saying he is going to be a great bull then there must be a chance of him turning out with a good proof.

HMMM we used too fran bulls - mark foothill who was a disaster - all of them blew their udders off on first calf and mark franner who left us beautiful VG cows that bred on and were as quoted above

Re: August Proof
Curious with the new net merit formula...
Why would they reduce the weighting of protein and raise it for fat?
Maybe cheese merit is the formula I'm looking for....

Re:
Genex is introducing a new index: ICC$ Ideal Commercial Cow. More focus on health. I think NM$ is shifting some of the health weighting into production.

Re: Re:
I think the NM changes are a mistake. Finally make some small improvements in health traits and now they go and put big weightings back on production and take it off health. It's like going back to the 90s.
