You could always have the vet to check her once she is old enough. I was debating whether to get a blood test done for one of my heifers born twin to a male. I figured I might as well save my money and wait, then get the vet to ultrasound her when she's old enough to be bred. Now, if she turns out to be a non-breeder, we'll grow her a few more months and then she'll make some good steaks. The blood test should be 99.9% accurate, and the error, would be on the human side of the equation. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Buckeye)Fri, 17 Oct 2014 02:23:26 +0000 Re:https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p439012,from=rss#post439012https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p439012,from=rss#post439012No test is 100% accurate. She held first service, but had very traumatic calving, and while she recovered, I had to sell her. I remember her feeling normal, when I bred her. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Buckeye)Thu, 16 Oct 2014 19:17:55 +0000 Freemartin blood testhttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p439002,from=rss#post439002https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p439002,from=rss#post439002I have blood tested two potential freemartins with one positive for the Y chromosome and one negative.
