Re: DOORMAN
I talked with a Semex person after catching wind of this. He is going for $100/unit right now, could go up. The kicker is assuming he survives his current issue, he has to go back through the health testing process, because he is at the vet hospital. He will not be able to be exported for 6 months after that. Semex has not a healthy top of the lineup bull since Aerostar.

Re:
Hopefully being at a vet hospital means his health testing upon return would be OK as all precautions are top of the line there. But who is to say he will every reproduce again. Sad state of affairs. He had several full brothers at Semex according to AccelGen's website but none were kept as it appears

I'd say there are clone pregnancies on their way already if he is siring show animals.

Re:
I think it's marketing buzz with him. You pretend the popular bull is in short supply and then you can increase the price. Nice try. Best example is Goldwyn, in short supply most of his life, so ridiculously priced. He's dead for years now and still there is semen around. Dream on.

Re:
semex cant market clones due to the Canadian regulations. There was a clone of Goldwyn and Champion and neither were ever marketed.

Re:
but if his dam is supplying stud contracts still; I'm willing to guess they are sired by the newest genomic wonders to increase numbers and demand. Not full siblings to Doorman himself.

Re: DOORMAN
Diamondback
Check this guy out. He is available sexed, and is a Doorman X Talent X Regiment X Durham. So different enough to use on some of the typey cows.

Re:
really like the looks of him ^^^ The most enticing thing about Doorman is his dam. Such a big, strong type of cow. Will compliment the Apple family well.

Funny how a certain bull that has sired many show champions that has been dead for 10 years(and was only alive for a relatively short time for a bull back then) still has plenty of semen around. Funny how the company that markets him always has reps that can "source" a couple straws...
