2015 in film

2015 is bound to be arguably the biggest year in film in terms of box office.

3 films have already broken the 1 billion mark.

1. Fast and Furious 7 with $1,520,593,707. ( I do wonder though why people find headache inducing action sequences and a terrible soundtrack to be entertaining).

2. Jurassic World with $1,472,854,541. I quite liked this one.

3. Avengers: Age of Ultron with $1,388,692,001. ( I didn't bother to see this mostly because of my experience with the previous Avengers, and how most Marvel films feel more like an assembly line product than an actual movie)

The other two films that are likely to hit pass the billion mark are Spectre and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Spectre comes off after the huge success of Skyfall, which in 2012 broke the billion mark. You could argue that James Bond hasn't been this popular since the days of Sean Connery, and with Sam Mendes back in the directors chair, it think this movie will be great!!!

The next Star Wars is likely the one with the best chances to become the highest grossing film of the year, if it really has the Force with it. I have mixed feelings about this one; without George at the helm I have my doubts it will be worthwhile and also the marketing campaign so far has left me with a sour taste.

Anyway, which film are you most looking forward to watching this year, or maybe its one you already saw?

Mad max: Fury road - loved everything about this.

Also Spy, don't watch the trailer, it's far better than it.

Enjoyed American Sniper.

Never watched one of the Fast & Furious movies, doubt I ever will.

I'm a petrol head and have seen pretty much all the fast and furious movies altho 7 is the only one I have seen on the big screen and we (12yo son and I) really enjoyed it.
the only other movie we went to see was pitch perfect 2 which basically turned into a long GLEE [sign in to see URL] could've been so much more than it turned out to be so not worth the money

I have seen Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, and Jurassic World.

Ant-Man was far and away the most enjoyable.

Jurassic World was just a repeat of Jurassic Park.

Age of Ultron was what it was. It was a next step in the chain of Marvel movies. But I never felt like it was as fun a movie as Marvel usually produces.

I have seen Jurassic World as well - I thought they should have done more with it - too much of a repeat from before. It was an awesome movie - but thought they missed an opportunity to do something different.

Age of Ultron really lacked character development. Felt disconnected.

Got to agree with you PAD on Jurassic World, I truly enjoyed the movie but they could have done much more with it. It doesn't have the extra little thing Jurassic Park had then, when my lil sister was calling to know if there were no raptors around.

This said, I truly enjoy my moment at the cinema just like when I went to watch the last number of the Planet of the Apes, pure spectacle, better see it on big screen then on TV or computer.
