Re: Madison
Just seen a picture of Pine-Shelter Cheyenne Lee (for those of us not able to get to Madison).
It is on page 21 of October issue of Holstein World - showing her after winning Minnesota State Holstein Show in August. For those who don't have Holstein World go to pineshelterfarm.com
She is under "other families". Plenty of other websites relating to her. Just put her name into search engine like yahoo.com

Re: Madison
Had a chat over a few beers with Callum McKinven when he judged our Winter Fair a few days ago. I now have to eat humble pie.
Paraphrasing for the great man :
The Leader cow was just too mature on the day, and didn't handle her legs nearly as well as the Lee. The Lee was just about prfectly balanced and a pretty clear winner. Other people have told him that she would have won Toronto as well, but he obviously can't say for sure.
he did say that if you just judged them on photographs the Leader might have won, but he got to see them walk
Mind you, judging just on photos the Cher-own Delilah (?) would have beaten them all, but she couldn't walk.
These are my interpretations of Callum's comments by the way, and there had been a few beers, so please don't anyone take offense. I just thought it would be nice for me to admit I was wrong :teethy and to pass on what the judge had to say.

Re: Madison
I was at the show and saw both cows in person not in pictures and I still would have to disagree with Callum.

Re: Madison
At the end of the day it was his decision and he chose what he thought was a worthy champ. I also like the way he buried some heifers in the Junior classes because they were too mature for their age, a problem that needs to be eliminated with the fake DOB's!
