halton Peel show

Hoping to take a group to Canada in mid-sept to view daughters of new bulls. Some of them would like to visit a show, and the only one on is halton/peel county show at the right time.

Does anybody know the area and what sort of standard is it, and where abouts in Ontario ? excuse my ignorance, but I don't know the counties in that much detail,.

What bull daus are you looking for? Halten/Peel will certainly not be one of the strongest shows, but may be worth a look. I'm sure Semex will set up your trip, so you see what your looking for, but all within about an hour or so are some of the following. Dupasquir, Craigcrest, Sunnymaple, Quality, Claynook, and one of my favorates Bosdale. If you want to see some real good ones try to get into some of these. If you or your friends have never been here your in for a treat. Can't wait to hear how you find our classification system when you get back.

usually on these trips we visit a few good herds and lots of 'lower end' places with test daughters. Thought an evening show would give us soemthing to do that didn't involve sitting in a hotel restaurant.

Hoping to see daughters of Freelance, Titanic, talent, jebadiah and possibly astronomical.

Went to claynook a couple of years ago, very nice set up, incredible production. haven't been to Bosdale, but have it on the list to visit.

Alan of the 5 bulls you mentioned 3 only have milking daus in Quebec (unless some have been purchased) You will find daus of Freelance, and an awfull lot of breeders, have Astronomical daus. I'm sure you will enjoy the show, maybe I will see you there.

suggest you go to holstein canada and print out daughter lists of bulls you wish to see then pick up phone and call.thata what we do! You get to meet lots of nice people and farmers enjoy meeting other farmers and finding out!.Rand Mcnally print a really good onterio road atlas that has just about every road , dirt or otherwise , in it as well as good maps of towns etc.I got mine at toronto airport but you should be able to buy it almost anywhere.

As Rudyard Kipling once said, " If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken - twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

No sorry, I have had too many beers. just got back from the pub!

Sorry Canuk / Albert, nothing to wind you up about - nothing against Astronomical, or Jackson or even Champion. I had just been mentioniong a bull we sell from Bosdale Laras called Macht from Germany. It sounded too much like advertising so was deleted. Whats this I hear about a bull called Canuck from Champions dam?
