Thats exactly how I understand it, but what about her sisters who also registerd as R&Ws, are they also BLACK?? and has this cow ever been parentage tested.

Would guess that all her sisters classed/registered as red are in fact black and white with some discoloured pigment in their coats but some may carry red (have an Aeroline here which looks to be redish but I know is only black and white but probably carrys red ) As for parentage checking got no idea on that one.

thinking about this topic today I realised that the murray grey breed of beef cattle is a stabilised red shorthorn angus cross featuring only shades of grey.So the big Q is why does red cross black make grey?

can i bamboozle you further with the thought that jersey x hereford mostly results in brindle with white legs and switch.
another silly Q why is it that when shorthorn is in a pedigree legs are always offcolor/spotty regardless of the cross?

To bad some studs have nothing of any value to offer to said enthusiastic red and white boys. As it has been said before the insignifigance of a coat color, always shows up in a sale. Did you ever wonder why that is? Perhaps its the fact, 75% of the worlds dairy cattle are R&W, and I suppose none of these farmers are to be considered breeders, or commercial dairymen. If this topic is of no interest or value to you, why then do you bother to check it out?? Maybe you should stick to what you know best, (the latest info, on your hot new breed inproving bull) Maybe you haven't noticed but any thread pertaining to R&W does seem to have lots of interest, the fact that some of you find coat color pointless, shows your ignorance to those of us who do not, and perhaps its time to offer something, of value to the thread, or maybe you can do us all a favour and be quiet.

Good one Bob, your a very funny man, but is that the best you got? At least your still interested enough to look. Now what have you to offer the thread, that doesn't involve something from your proof sheet???

Canuk,
We can go back and forth about what is Red and what is black or Brown, But regardless we still love them and take offence. Whats the deal with some of the red bulls from Genex that you can't regester them.
