Re: Rubens mating suggestions
September Storm and Jordan should both be good crosses on Rubens daughters.

Re: Rubens mating suggestions
would'nt Red marker give that slab side type of rib on a rubens. Just not impressed with the way Red Marker gives that Short neck most of the time.

Re: Rubens mating suggestions
Another thing to be careful with with Red Marker on Rubens daughters is that in my experience with them the Rubens daughters tend to be tight ribbed. So when using Red Marker be careful that you don't just make this fault worse.

Re: Rubens mating suggestions
Her rump is Ok maybe a touch high in the pins. She is definately tight ribbed and lacking in depth. Won't the red marker's have to much set to the hock and a low pastern. I like the Kite suggestion. She was going to be contracted to Sept Storm, but didn't make the cut.

Re: Rubens mating suggestions
Tribute will open her up in the rib, drop the rump, and add style throughout. 1st place March calf at Madison was a Tribute x Rubens owned by Mark Rueth. We have a Tribute x Rubens Desire that has the potential to be a real burner as a cow.

Re: Rubens mating suggestions
I would also go along with Tribute x Rubens, as long as she isn't to down hill in front. The Tribute heifers seem to have lots of style, he may be the R.C Storm son, thats been somewhat forgotten, after Talent and September, wonder how the 3 of them will shake out out after 2 crop?
