Broa,
As smous already knows, we are predominatly Jersey herd, with some 30% Ayshire Xbred.
Goals for us -
= Retain the current MS output at excess of 4% protein (thats where we get our money).
= Increase the size of our animals without going too huge
= Maintain above average fertility
= Continue xbreeding bottom litreage cows to lift output but to fall within the above criteria.
I would consider fertility to be a big one, coz it doesnt matter how good a cow is - if she dont get in calf, she is as good as teats on a bull.
How do SRB compare to HF and Ayshire re fert wise?

If you use the better fertility SRB bulls like Valon I'm sure you'll find they compare very favorably to most everything else.
