When I said that there are better red ones in Holland I meant cows with the crisp, youthful beauty that is so important in the show ring but hardly nowhere else Canuk worded it just right "great old cow anyone would be proud to own,(she is just past her prime, maybe her only fault)" nondisclosed_email@example.com (broa)Thu, 01 Sep 2005 15:52:21 +0000 Re: R&W contesthttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p28294,from=rss#post28294https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p28294,from=rss#post28294#1 Dorothee - Germany #2 Parade - USA #3 Chicoutimi - Switzerland #4 Fanatiscka - Czech #5 Madisa - Canada #6 Jacoba - Netherlands #7 Royale - France #8 Princes - Luxemburg #9 Shania - Denmark Cow #1 just has more maturity to be champion than #2,(no doubt in my mind that #2 stood againt the hardest competition, to win at Madison) but you could switch the top 3 any way you like, and I could live with it. They are the only 3 worthey of consideration for Champion. (my opinion) #4 & #5 you could switch also but these 2 definaty belong in the next group.#4 more style, dairyness, better udder (maybe), and set to her legs. #5 More frame, better heel and pasturn, especally on her front feet, than #4. I agree with Broa a better photo of #4 would have been nice, and looking at #5, you can't help but wonder what she would look like in her working clothes. #6 & #7 - #6 great old cow anyone would be proud to own,(she is just past her prime, maybe her only fault) #7 also a good cow, but #6 beats her on length alone, and after 1 or 2 more calves #7s rear udder will not likely be as functional as #6. #8 - looks like a 81-82 pt cow to me #9 - 80pts tops For those who breed cows, and say they do care what a cow looks like, the top 3, out produce the bottom 3 by a wide margin, and striving to breed cows like these, is truely something to be proud of, its what makes it all worth while. nondisclosed_email@example.com (canuk)Thu, 01 Sep 2005 14:51:17 +0000 Re: R&W contesthttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p28293,from=rss#post28293https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p28293,from=rss#post28293I saw what I put on top 3 Live During 2004. 1) Switzerland 2) USA 3) Germany 4) Ceck Republic 5) Canada 6) Luxemburg 7) Netherlands 8) France 9) Denmark I don't have time right to scan all the pictures and post them, I promise I will do.nondisclosed_email@example.com (POSAL)Thu, 01 Sep 2005 13:51:28 +0000 R&W contesthttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p28292,from=rss#post28292https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p28292,from=rss#post28292a question Posal............do photographs walk?? Not sure why they put Jacoba on there for Holland, except that she was champion at the HHH Show, which has only a very small section of Red Holsteins. She is a very functional old cow, but we've got better show cows than that.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gerbrich)Tue, 30 Aug 2005 07:57:16 +0000 Re: …https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p28283,from=rss#post28283https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p28283,from=rss#post28283Thanks Posal.
