People are constantly excusing poor milking heifers with the tortoise and hare senario on this forum so I thought it would make an interesting question-sorry if it was too difficult to understand.

In our high indexing very commercialy run herd we had a 15% replacement rate last year and I was pretty proud of that.Seems those 10,000kg heifers can last and produce for lactaions to come!We had two 100 T cows last year,an Aerostar that promptly died in her sleep shortly afterwards and an Etazon Cobalt that is still going.We have a Juror X Mascot that has just calved again having already done 75T and a Celcius due to go dry soon that has already done 80T.
Will be selling some excess heifers this summer despite using Beef bulls on the worst cows.
