very good mark!
don't mean to be smart but there are a few countries who have tried that trick and one is a stones throw from where you are. the emerald isle still claims to be BSE free.
then you have the smart men in the uk that thought by tricking the vets into thinking there cows had BSE to claim compensation. Good idea emoticon

Milkthief since when has my beloved country claimed to be BSE free????? There are cases here every month, but because of their ludicrous culling policy and technicalities in the legal system we can still market our stock.

tried to be a farmer in the uk back in 1996 to 2000 and the colapse of the pig industry almost bankrupted me. although the sacrafices i have made for the pride of being able to repay my debt cost me my first marriage. okay i get a good package but i don't think i'll ever be able to own a farm. i have no interest in borrowing more money to start again. emoticon

apologies :soss
It it must then be the way that the Irish goverment never really broadcast the facts. i know of a complete herd that was destroyed just over a month ago and it was never reported in the press.
when i was a college all those years ago before BSE showed it symptoms in the north a Irish Vet Lecturer at our college was aware of BSE down south but it was all well covered up.emoticon

Regardless of breed I've always taken the view that any creature daft enough to roll onto its back and try to die probably isn't worth trying to keep alive in the first place.
