It is hard to like the Aussies win or lose, hope Anderson and co. remove Warner's smirk if not his head in the next test. He is currently out injured. A previous player, Ed Joyce, played for Ireland, then went to play for England. he was dropped by England after the 2007 World Cup and is now in ireland's squad for the 2011 Cup. It's all a bit too complicated for me. I reckon you should play for the country you or your parents were born in, or if you have lived somewhere for at least 10 years. None of this grandparent bit, or living somewhere for 3-4 years.nondisclosed_email@example.com (alan a)Sat, 05 Mar 2011 14:44:53 +0000 Re: Crickethttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p420439,from=rss#post420439https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p420439,from=rss#post420439ok well the documentary I saw on the irish cricket teams last world cup attempt which saw them finish 4th or 5th ranked said only one of their players played for england and implied that the rest , who kept having to ring home and arrange longer leave off of work commitments were not professional.Maybe the previous success drew some of the professionals into the mix?The documentary certainly did not cover everyones place of birth.nondisclosed_email@example.com (foxleigh)Sat, 05 Mar 2011 13:09:40 +0000 Re: Crickethttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p420438,from=rss#post420438https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p420438,from=rss#post42043811 or 12 of the Irish team are full time professionals with English county teams. The English team was what they considered to be their best available side. The one thing that does irritate me, is the way the commentators kept referring to 2 of our players as Australian-born. They didn't feel the need to mention the 4 South African born players in the England team. I also enjoyed the horror from the UK reporters when our star batsman, Kevin O'Brien said he wanted to keep playing for Ireland, not switch to England. nondisclosed_email@example.com (alan a)Sat, 05 Mar 2011 10:32:55 +0000 Re: Crickethttps://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p420437,from=rss#post420437https://bcowtalk.runboard.com/p420437,from=rss#post420437interesting to see if the irish lads can finish higher at this years world cup......does beg the Q what kind of a team did england put up ?
