But here in Italy we did not get any Durham or BW Marshall, now we can't have Morty anymore, We did not get Emory, Mandel...

What is going on? I believe that all Good Bull have some diseases !!!

Yeah "Political Diseases" !

We are used Dante and in the US they used Durham, we got Empire they got Derry, we get Forbidden they got Eland.

Is USA selling away just 2nd choice bulls?
Saving 1st choice for their own???

The Political Disease you refer too I assume is the Health and Standards each country outlines for Imports and Exports of Livestock.

Leoucosis, Blue Tongue, BVD, Leptospirious, Johnes,etc.. all have serious ramifications.

While a bull may not carry one of these at the herd of origin, sometimes in a Bull Stud mixing with bulls of different origin...bad things crop up.

Bulls are tested randomly thru out there lives especially Proven bulls that become in demand around the world.

In the case of Morty I was told he was clean and free to be sold around the world but at some point in the last year he had a high Blood Test (Blood Tighter?)for one of the above diseases...ending his eligibility to go overseas.

Durham I believe was a Leoucosis Tighter all of his Proven Life eliminating him from much of the global markets... I think he was allowed to Japan but not sure of Canada.

BW Marshall... never was made aware of any blood problems? always assumed from what I heard he wasnt the best semen producer lifetime at the time of his death semen went scarce quick.

Not sure how Italy got Mandel he was another one that had blood test problems I remember in his day many countries couldnt use him and where seeking all they could from matings in the US

Problem is not US or Canada political disease , it is disease Europe Union healthy policy . Morty , Durham , BW Marshall and specialy some Select Sires bulls afore are infection IBR or leukosis , this problem arise from group housing in Select Sires barn , or other company( one bull infect other bull ), today is situacion in barn Select sires differently , good bulls are housing in individual cote .

I've always assumed the same Health Regulations are required for both semen and embryos, no matter the country.

A better person to answer that question would be someone with a number of years experience in the Embryo Exports and who Owns his own Bullstud and is familiar with Health Protical.

At last check hes still Banned?!?
