Durham should be getting sons coming up. If they have a few identified to push, why not?

the bullstuds have to think like this otherwise they have no reason to search for the next great bull. As soon as they stay still they are going backwards. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with going back to use a bull a second, third even fifth time but its not ideal genetic progress. The son (in theory) should be further advanced. Dont worry i know this isnt always the case!

Bullpen, do you have any early indications on how Zenith will perform? Durham x Mandel will convert really well into a UK proof with Mandels help. I would be concerned about that fat though.

I have heard good and bad on Zenith. I have not seen any. Some say very light in the front end. Others call them correct and dairy. Average production, good udders and feet and legs.

I am watching Regancrest-Mr Samuelo EX looks like he is making a few good ones.
I like the mating of the bull Durham x Emory.

Charity, do you know whether he would qualify for the UK? Like you I think thats a real nice cross, for me Durhams need widening out through the front end which Emory is sure to do. Durhams havent just got the width that full brother Dante has. Seems the Dellia temperament is apparent in Dante too, as my swollen hand testified a few weeks back.

Frodobag,

There is a Durham son in Spain (Duplex)out of Henkeseen Hillary's Emory daugh. who is now EX.,we have a yearling that placed 2nd.in section both at our national show and semana verde's intnl. show.

Have seen quite a few calves and all seem to be very strong and deep, and talked to a breeder from Mexico last week and he said he has 70 some calves that all stand out above the others.

Yes we market Duplex (Durham x Emory). He is out of Henkeseen Hillcrests full sister and with Hillcrest being top frame bull available in UK, he should carry Durham in that respect. The old Ex94 Mark Marci cow was one of the deepest and widest ribbed cow I ever saw. Her daughter Hillary was a great young heifer scoring VG89 as a two year old and is now Ex94. Her Emory daughter is currently Ex90 and nice to know the young Duplex sire has also scored EX.

Seen quite a few Mr Montana heifers lately (Durham x Miss Mark Maui) was very impressed. Long bodied, hard toplines, good rib, good feet and legs, really stylish. High profile herd had its five yearly dispersal yesterday, colleague of mine was there, he was also impressed by the Mr Montanas, so were the buyers, they went for big bucks.

Champion calves went for huge money evidently.
