Re: Red Marker

Red Marker has Stardust and Triple Threat in his pedigree, neither were known for the dairy character of their daughters and you can take your pick on where the thick neck comes from.

Why does nobody ever consider Persia-Red or Ja-bob Jordan, they at least look trying on a limited basis.

Re: Red Marker

Jordan gets mentioned in the RW Thread quite a bit. He has a low dairy character linear as well, crossed with Red Marker it just may be too much thickness. Jordan would work better on Rubens blood.

Whether its type or index the bottom line is that all must milk.

Re: Red Marker

you would want to try to bring some milk to the calf because the red markers have a tendancy to not milk all thet well. We milked one and she did not milk that well.

Yes, I agree I wouldn't recommend Jordan on a Red Marker no matter how dairy the Red Marker is.

Re: Red Marker

amlkman - isn't it a little early to say she SHOULD be Nominated? Esp.with a fualt like a short neck. The neck comes directly from Stardust. It is hard to find a Red Marker or a Stardust with a long neck. If you do they are rare and usually really good. I like Indies idea and would try to get a shot of Blackstar in there. I always liked the Stardust X Blackstar cross. WHo is the heifer? Best of luck the rest of the year with her.

Re: Red Marker

She won her class at the Red and white show this year in New York. As a spring Yearling. There is not much in the red and whites that will beat her. Going to take her to Ca. State show. Should get Second there. There is a black and white that she cant beat. Her name is: FLORENDALE RM PRIDE-RED, can't a person dream and shoot for the stars??? emoticon

Re: Red Marker

plan on going to Madison. Tried to enter her in the all other breeds in Ca. But they don't have one in the open Div. The black and white she will be going aginst has the same frame and Dairyness but has that longer neck. They had turned down 50K for her. Thers no way she can win over her.
