Rozine should calve tonight or tommorrow and she is looking awesome.Considering she is a raider she's one of the biggest cows that i've ever seen, she even makes Stardancer look small. Is your Rozine daughter by Leduc? How does she look?Bob keeps asking me if i have seen any of the Indianhead cattle back home.I have a full sister to Birthday girl back home so it was a kind of nice connection to come over here and see how that family is progressing.
Star dancer is not pregnant,we dried her off last week. She is going to be flushed next week then put back in calf. She also looks fantastic.I think you might have a storm daughter? We have just calved a really nice Lee/stardancer that looks really good and her Rudolph looks equally as good although she is due with her first in about ten days.I will keep you informed!
Stardancers first daughter by storm-Indianhead Stormy was sold to the Cow town herd of Doug Nelson through the IH sale for $34000 and she has now classified ex92.Her new photo looks brilliant. She has a leduc daughter in the Ocean view sale on Saturday that looks like it could make big money. You can see her at the harvest of excellence website and view the catalogue.

What happened to Liberty at Minnesota St. Fair did she get over full? When I saw her in the pack at about 6 o'clock she looked spectacular and I thought she might take the class but in the ring she looked milked out and like she had lost her crease?

She banged her udder at the wash rack that morning and she just got this kind of swelling,so we took some milk off of her so as not to cause any future problems. It was a real shame because she looks fantastic when she is on the money, she would have done well in her class.

They sound excellent,if your Rozine matures like her mother you will not be dissapointed!
Just for your info ,the Leduc from Indianhead Stormy(storm/stardancer) made$9400 in the ocean view sale and she looked awesome, hopefully yours may turn out to be the same.

Notice you did not mention "Walmart" on the Odin thread. Is she still alive?

To be honest with you i was going to mention Walmart when i saw the stuff about Odin, but then i got distracted onto something else!
Walmart is very much alive and well and looking really great for her age.She is currently still being flushed but they are going to get her pregnant again some time soon in the hope of maybe showing her again later next year.

Hey Mark, I know we disagree about Durham, but what are your thoughts on Markwell Kite. I am milking two now and am not pleased with the mammaries at all. Short teats, bulgy fore udders, quartering is evident. I showed these cows as calves but they will never see the showring again. Are mine the aboration, or are they a pattern? On a side note I have a nice Kite calf born Sept 1, that looks good, and has gotten good reviews from farm visitors.

To be honest with you i don't think i can give a proper judgement yet because i have only seen 3 in milk. The first is the Kite Brianne here at IH,which you will see on the ABS adverts and two others in a comercial herd. All three of these were great cows, tall, dairy, nice udders and leg sets and tracked really well.Brianne is a fantastic heifer and should be a good ambassador for Kite at Madison.
What i can tell you about Kite though,is that on almost every farm you visit that has used Kite, the heifers are outstanding;very dairy with stacks of length and plenty of rib.I can see his daughters dominating the calf classes at the shows in the near future.
As far as udders go i haven't seen a bad uddered Kite, but like i say i haven't seen enough in milk yet. When i saw your post on here i went and looked at some of the in calf Kites here and they all look good underneath, but time will tell i suppose.I see no reason for them to be bad uddered,Skychief/Blackrose,you would think was a safe bet for udders but stranger things have happened!Personally, from what i have seen of the Kites so far ,i think that this could be the best one of the Blackrose sons. The others do a fantastic job of putting strengh and frame into a cow but perhaps lack a little milk. With Kite you get the frame but with a more refined dairyness, and in turn hopefully the extra milk.Brianne for example has done over 120ibs for her first three tests.
