Re: OLD BULL!!!
A bull is outdated when the style of his daughters no longer match the kind of cattle you are trying to breed.
As Foxleigh said you may need to call on some older genetics to bring back some needed
traits.
Sometimes it's a compromise to reclaim more strength and better leg and rump structure. I think we are ahead in udders though, thanks to breeder demand, and their disuse of high PD milk AI blow bags of the '70's and early '80's.

Re: OLD BULL!!!
Do you think useing older bulls you could gain on feet and legs, strength. But then lose on udders. Would that be a wise thing to do?

Re: OLD BULL!!!
You would have to be careful in your selection. But the main traits of the older bulls are pretty well known. I would love to be able to call on the strength, constitution, and longevity of the Veedictions. That was the cross that gave us seven Ex Matts. Adding Conductor to that mix worked well for us too.

Re: OLD BULL!!!
Does not matter to me if they are to old.
Its the the thrill of having animals around
a farm that have sires that are twice my age.
