Re: Mascot

Dixellen Design was 465 if I remember correctly; but I know this is a rare combination. I've heard this need for a 465 bull before......hope no one is setting themselves up for advertising.

Re: Mascot

Allens proof in Canada is 995kgs milk. So in U.S terms that is the same as 2189ls. No conversion there Ron. I do believe the figure you used of 705 PDM is a conversion. I really don't have a clue, how this works.

Re: Mascot

Yes that is Allen's converted proof in the US.

Shilt there are only a couple of proven 465 aAa bulls in the world many people know them. If they don't, they can e-mail me privately or look on my website for the answer.

I know that there are indeed very few 465 bulls out there, which makes mating with them difficult. I was just curious though - do you think there is another code bull that could do a lot of the things similar? And possibly use in place of a 465 bull? I guess my question is; if you don't have a 465 bull, where do you go then????

emoticonPerhaps 1st you should consider the best one out there.

Obviously there are other choices available.

Re: Mascot

We had very good luck with Dixellen Design and believe we could possibly have his best daughter. The one cow is 64 inches tall and 93 points should go 94 with another calf. The other cow is a 62 1/2 inch 3 year old who should go excellent if not 91. I am unimpressed with the Allen calves we have, but feel if he was used correctly could be alright; however, I'm not a fan and think he will flop. Hey Ron isn't Dellstar a 456 bull? he looks good have considered using him before.

Indies view Allen had 52 daughters at 61% gp or better in August 2001,Inquirer had 62 daughters at 65% gp or better in August 2001.
Allen has 263 daughters at 75% gp or better as this is written.Inquirer has 3589 daughters at 51% gp or better. Before i slag the bull of i would look at why the calves are not very good and most of the time it is poor breeding that causes this not the poor old bull.

Re: Mascot

Inquirer did exactly what his aAa numbers,321... predicted he would do.

Minus on strength and foot angle, hocked in,set to the leg, slope to the rump, open rib, good milk production.

He did better in Canada ,than he would have here because of the different cow population.

There are thousands of cows like that in the US.Because Blackstar is currently the breed's most influential bull,(10.2% genes in common).

That's why a top proven ,aAa 465, bull is needed on 80% of the Holstein population.
