Looks good, follows a Storm pattern, probably average to slighly above for frame and strength, with good bags. I have not seen any but have seen probably 5-6 diff daughter pics. The pass the look test. With 300 daughters his proof looks pretty solid.

Whether its type or index the bottom line is that all must milk.

Buckeye,

I looked up Atom's daughters on Select's site. Considering his linear shows him to sire very shallow udders I was surprised to see alomost every daughter photographed had an udder deeper than the cows rib.

The linear looks great, but to me the photos did not match the linear.

Re: FLUSH SUGGESTIONS

I looked them up, following your comments and some were extremely snug. One or two slightly lower than you would like BUT we have to remember these are progeny test daughters invariably out of sometimes sub GP or even G or F or P cows.
He is classed as average for udder depth.

When we see daughter pics, we rightly expect to see something we would be proud of in our own herd. But at the end of the day, unless a bull was sampled in top pedigree or type herds the chances of finding many VG 2 yr olds are few and far between. Most AI companies would be pleased to find 3 or 4 decent picturable cows from a random sample progeny test on large commercial units.
I remember when Blackstar first came out - there wasn't a decent daughter picture around but he ended up doing what they promised he would on the linear. Other bulls had poor linears but one or two perfect pictures.

Bullpen,

I looked again at the daughter pictures, it was a couple of weeks since I had checked them out. You are right and actually the pictures are quite good! I must have mistaken his daughters for another bull.

I should add that I am also Craig Davidson!

Back to the topic.

Some of the Allen calves we have, have narrow rumps. If your Stormatic is narrow then Allen may not be the ideal bull.

What are the two sires behind your worst Allen for rump width are they bad for this [sign in to see URL] they are bad for that trait then its not all down to Allen.
