Re: DE-SU BKM McCutchen 1174
I noticed that Sandy-Vally rate McCutchen and Mogul as the best of their two year olds.

Re:
Which McCutchen sons are people using? I've used some High Octane but there are a lot that look good.

We've used High Octane, Groovin, Kingboy, Kingpin, Kian and Renegade. So far Kingboy's daughters are standouts!

Re: DE-SU BKM McCutchen 1174
I just calved my first McCutchen 4 days ago. She had only turned 22 months old and is at least 61.5 inches tall! She is way too gangly and extreme in my opinion. I fear for her when she goes in the cubicles.
She has a really snug, shallow udder, very high and wide rear udder. She is quite promising if you like that sort of thing.
My second one is due in about two weeks. She is much more balanced, with real width about her. I am much more hopeful for her long term prospects. Pregnant to Supershot, fingers crossed for a heifer calf!

Re: DE-SU BKM McCutchen 1174
Anyone ever tried McCutchen X Doorman or vice versa?
I know that are extrem similar pedrigrees, but just saw that cross at some embryo offers- like the Atwood X Goldwyn thing was fashionable some time ago for type guys.
Bookem is still really high in RZG-system, so I was wondering if linebreeding on him in addition to a really strong cowfamily behind the maternal line, you breed it to, could make some interesting numbers and cows.

Re: DE-SU BKM McCutchen 1174
The cross would not yield great rump traits but Doorman would bring a deeper body to Mccutchen whilst Mccutchen looks to have more quality through the udder.
This cross would be best used by using a daughter from a Doorman son like Maverick Crush and breeding her to the best bull from the best daughter of Mccutchen with the best ratings for rump and milking speed.
