Re: genomic results
Thanks Craethke. We only used 10 units of Halogen, but ended up with 11 pregnancies. 7 of those pregnancies were from three units that we used for a flush. Can't complain much about those results even though its a pretty small sample size. Calves are small but vigorous and rather friendly. Had several of my Halogen calves try and lick me imediately after dehorning. None of the calves required any assistance at birth and I am thinking of using more of him this summer as his SCR score is a very solid 3.1.

Re: genomic results
Cool Jeb, those are the real world insights that are always interesting to know. Haven't used any Halogen yet, but at 3.1 SCR and calving ease, it may be hard to go wrong using 10 or 20 units, and the health traits look to be breed leading. If I remember correctly, a Halogen son is at the top of the heap for NM or GTPI, as just a baby. It seems to be a good indicator so far if a bull can make extremely high testing calves that there proof will be just fine in the end. Continued success and thanks for the info!!

Re:
25-30. Hahah. We get shafted with prices here. Last check was 120 over here.
We seem to get the high prices that top end genomic bulls start off with but they never end up dropping.

Re: genomic results
Select price sheet says $60 now, my guess is he will drop even more come August. Probably more like 35-40 currently here, sorry it's not cheaper there. Kingboy is listed at $200 on the same sheet for reference.

Re: genomic results
Pride Bookem Tussle 997-et came back at 850NM$ this run, making her the #5 NM cow in the breed. She has 2 Oak bulls high enough for AI, including Tux at 975NM$. We have pregs and implants by LaddMan-P and she is PG to Gabor. She is a sister to Planet Tasket at Genex. Shottle Ticker 594 gave us 2 dtrs that made the top 5 of the breed for NM!! As my dad used to say, even a blind hog roots up an acorn once in a while!

Re: genomic results
Congratulations. The impressive thing is the consistency. You don't have just one outlier there are several members with high numbers AND high numbers with both the bulls and the heifers. Have fun and enjoy!
